DMA Advisory Board
Next Friday (3/2/18) I will be attending my first Advisory Board meeting at UNC Asheville. The Department of Management and Accountancy is making impressive strides in cultivating new experiential learning opportunities in high-growth segments of the local economy. As a member representing our manufacturing sector, I am excited to be part of this strategic initiative. Helping to shape educational content through direct industry interaction will better prepare students for Western North Carolina's evolving workforce needs.

Coffee & Conversation
In collaboration with the Asheville Museum of Science, AMP-Connect is hosting a series of "Coffee & Conversation" get-togethers with influential educators and employers. The goal is to brainstorm ideas for interactive exhibits and programs that AMOS can organize to serve the STEM education needs of our region. Ultimately these sessions will build up to a 90-minute "Youthful Inspiration → STEM Education" Workforce Development Summit with the intention of giving local manufacturing leaders a forum to help shape the skillsets necessary for future generations to succeed in Western North Carolina industry.
